Who We Are
Welcome from our Executive Director, Dr. Melissa Roberts!
Moffitt Health Center is a multi-service health care facility located on the Hattiesburg campus of Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ. All currently enrolled students and employees at Southern Miss are eligible to receive the services we provide. We are accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC) and have served the university community for more than 40 years.
Under the direction of Melissa Roberts, M.D., our qualified staff includes physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nurses with a student-focused mission to provide quality, cost-effective comprehensive health care, and educational services to the university community.

Moffitt Health Center exists to enhance student success by providing high quality, cost effective healthcare while promoting a culture of wellness through outreach programs and patient education.
Fall and Spring Semesters
Monday-Wednesday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Thursday: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Friday: 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
*Pharmacy opens at 9 a.m. Monday - Friday*
Semester Breaks and Summer
Clinic and Pharmacy
Monday - Friday and Friday: 8:30 a.m. - Noon, 1 p.m - 4:30 p.m.
Thursday: 9:00 a.m. - Noon, 1 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
On behalf of the employees at the Student Health Services, we would like to inform you of things that you might not be aware of as a new or existing patient.
HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) – is a federal law that requires the Southern Miss Student Health Services to protect your health information and to keep everything confidential.
You will be given a copy of our notice of privacy practices and required to sign this form upon your first visit.
You as a patient have rights and responsibilities. A copy of these rights and responsibilities can be found in each patient room.
Announcements
The 2024 Fall Wellness Festival, hosted by Moffitt Health Center, Student Counseling Services, and Campus Recreation, is happening on October 29 from 3 PM - 6 PM at Spirit Park! Join us for an afternoon packed with fun booths, games, free food, and plenty of great health information. You’ll also get to meet Seymour and spend time with therapy dogs! Don’t miss this exciting event—bring your friends and stop by to enjoy all the fun and wellness!
