Introduction – Who we are: Welcome to the website of the University of Southern Mississippi’s Business and Innovation Assistance Center, better known as Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ/BIAC, located in Building 1103 - the Mississippi Technology Transfer Center - on the grounds of the NASA John C. Stennis Space Center (NASA-SSC) in Hancock County, MS. Organized in 2009, Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ/BIAC represents a set of programs, services and expertise that have organically grown from Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ’s services that for more than a decade provided support to the State’s universities, NASA’s and other federal agencies’ technology development and transfer programs and related efforts in working with small businesses, industry and other organizations in technology development and commercialization. Focus – What we do: Functions – How we do it: MS-FAST Program – Working with its partners Innovate Mississippi and members of the Mississippi Research Consortium, the Mississippi Federal and State Technology (MS-FAST) partnership program supports Mississippi’s small high-tech businesses to better compete in the federally funded Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. These programs annually award more than $2.4 billions in contracts and grants supporting research and development of innovative technologies. Click here for more information on MS-FAST. MRC – The Mississippi Research Consortium (MRC), formed in 1986, is a coalition of Mississippi’s
four research universities: Jackson State University, Mississippi State University,
University of Mississippi, and the University of Southern Mississippi. Partnership Support – Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ/BIAC personnel provide project development and management services to various Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ grants and contracts supporting technology development and transfer and related economic development. |
