Advanced Economic Development Program

Page Content

The Advanced Economic Development Leadership (AEDL) program seeks to help economic developers reimagine their role while providing leading-edge ways to think about and address challenges, and create connections and a network that are invaluable. AEDL relies on experienced faculty, industry practitioners, business leaders, and the country’s foremost site consultants to present leading-edge strategies and techniques necessary to succeed in the evolving world of quality job creation. The University of Southern Mississippi partners with Clemson University, Texas Christian University and The University of New Mexico to deliver this dynamic leadership program. The course is designed for mid- to senior-level economic developers and will be a hands-on two-week course. The curriculum has been collaboratively designed by all four universities with the key areas of topics being: leadership, innovation, project management, workforce/education excellence, business development, global challenges, and modern technology data. The instructors for the courses are valued economic development educators, site consultants, subject experts, and faculty from all four universities. The four universities have been planning for several years to bring you the most dynamic and effective advanced economic development course available.

The course is designed for 40 participants and graduates are awarded an Economic Development Master Practitioner diploma from the partner universities during the closing ceremony.
