$93,457 External Grant with the CDC
Dr. Yuanyuan Zhang, recently secured a grant of $93,457 by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to modernize the surveillance of the built environment for more physical activities and better health of our population. The objective of Dr. Zhang’s work is to use computer vision and machine learning technologies to extract sidewalks network data from satellite/aerial imageries of a given area. This work is part of the effort to generate a national wide database for pedestrian facilities.
Recently Completed $47,419 External Grant from the RPA
Dr. Yuanyuan Zhang recently completed an external grant for $47,419 from the National Association of Railroad Passengers, also known as Rail Passengers Association (RPA) for a study on a modernized tool for socioeconomic impact analysis of passenger railways. RPA is the largest advocacy organization for rail passengers in the United States.
