The School of Leadership is pleased to announce a call for the Spring 2024 Student Awards. Annually, the School of Leadership recognizes outstanding academic, University, and community service for both undergraduate and graduate students. Students within School of Leadership academic programs are eligible to complete a self-nomination application: 

  • Accounting, BSBA (Gulf Park campus)
  • Applied Technology, BAS
  • Industrial Engineering Technology, BS
  • Management, BSBA (Gulf Park campus)
  • Marketing, BSBA (Gulf Park campus)
  • Logistics, Trade, and Transportation, MS
  • Human Capital Development, MS
  • Human Capital Development (Instructional Technology and Design), MS
  • Human Capital Development, PhD
  • Human Capital Development (Instructional Technology and Design), PhD

Please read the award descriptions below related to each award category and apply based on your meeting the award criteria. Outstanding Undergraduate Student in Accounting 

Criteria:

  1. GPA - minimum 3.5 (in the major)
  2. Senior standing - number of hours earned >90
  3. Contribution to the school/university

Outstanding Undergraduate Student in Applied Technology 

Criteria:

  1. GPA - minimum 3.5 (in the major)
  2. Senior standing - number of hours earned >90
  3. Contribution to the school/university

Outstanding Undergraduate Student in Industrial Engineering Technology

Criteria:

  1. GPA - minimum 3.5 (in the major)
  2. Senior standing - number of hours earned >90
  3. Contribution to the school/university

Outstanding Undergraduate Student in Management

Criteria:

  1. GPA - minimum 3.5 (in the major)
  2. Senior standing - number of hours earned >90
  3. Contribution to the school/university

Outstanding Undergraduate Student in Marketing

Criteria:

  1. GPA - minimum 3.5 (in the major)
  2. Senior standing - number of hours earned >90
  3. Contribution to the school/university

Outstanding Master's Student in Human Capital Development

Criteria:

  1. Minimum 3.75 GPA, >20 earned hours
  2. Shows collegiality among SoL community
  3. Contributes to the department, university and HCD community through outreach activity
  4. Any other notable or outstanding characteristics which make the nominee exceptional

Ceremony: Gulf Coast Awards

Outstanding Master's Student in Human Capital Development (ITD)

Criteria:

  1. Minimum 3.75 GPA, >20 earned hours
  2. Shows collegiality among SoL community
  3. Contributes to the department, university and HCD(ITD) community through outreach activity
  4. Any other notable or outstanding characteristics which make the nominee exceptional

Ceremony: Gulf Coast Awards

Outstanding Master's Student in Logistics, Trade, and Transportation

Criteria:

  1. Minimum 3.75 GPA, >20 earned hours
  2. Shows collegiality among Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ, SoL and LTT communities
  3. Contributes to the department, university and LTT community through outreach activity
  4. Any other notable or outstanding characteristics which make the nominee exceptional

Ceremony: Gulf Coast Awards

Outstanding Doctoral Student in Human Capital Development

Criteria:

  1. Minimum 3.75 GPA, >30 earned hours
  2. Represents the SoL through presentations and publications
  3. Shows collegiality among SoL community
  4. Contributes to the SoL, university and HCD community through outreach activity
  5. Any other notable or outstanding characteristics which make the nominee exceptional 

Ceremony: Gulf Coast Awards, School of Leadership Awards

Outstanding Doctoral Student in Human Capital Development(ITD)

Criteria:

  1. Minimum 3.75 GPA, >30 earned hours
  2. Represents the SoL through presentations and publications
  3. Shows collegiality among SoL community
  4. Contributes to the SoL, university and HCD community through outreach activity
  5. Any other notable or outstanding characteristics which make the nominee exceptional 

Ceremony: Gulf Coast Awards, School of Leadership Awards

These awards are open to both undergraduate and graduate students.

Outstanding Veteran Student Award

Criteria:

  1. GPA - in good academic standing
  2. Contribution to the school/university
  3. Must display distinctive leadership and meritorious service related to the award
  4. Prior Military Service (any branch)

Ceremony: Gulf Coast Awards

Outstanding Military Student Award

Criteria:

  1. GPA - in good academic standing
  2. Contribution to the school/university
  3. Must display distinctive leadership and meritorious service related to the award
  4. Current, active military service - any branch, reserves, or active guard

Ceremony: Gulf Coast Awards

Outstanding International Student Award

Criteria:

  1. GPA - in good academic standing
  2. Contribution to the school/university
  3. Must display distinctive leadership and meritorious service related to the award
  4. International student status registered with University

Ceremony: Gulf Coast Awards

Outstanding Woman Student in School of Leadership

Criteria:

  1. GPA - in good academic standing
  2. Contribution to the school/university
  3. Must display distinctive leadership and meritorious service related to the award

Ceremony: Gulf Coast Awards

Outstanding First Generation College Student Award

Criteria:

  1. GPA - in good academic standing
  2. Contribution to the school/university
  3. Must display distinctive leadership and meritorious service related to the award
  4. Verified first generation via University

Ceremony: Gulf Coast Awards

Outstanding Diversity Student Award

Criteria:

  1. GPA - in good academic standing
  2. Must display distinctive leadership and meritorious service related to the award
  3. Contribution to the school/university (APA's definition of diversity includes race, ethnicity, language, sexual orientation, gender, age, disability, class status, education & religious/ spiritual orientation)
