Dr. Candice Salyers

Bio
Dr. Candice Salyers received an interdisciplinary BLS from the University of Memphis, an MFA in Choreography and Performance from Smith College, and a PhD from Texas Woman’s University. She has enjoyed performing with a variety of choreographers, including Li Chiao-Ping and Victoria Marks, and her solo performance work has been shown in the U.S., U.K., Estonia, Spain, Morocco, and the Czech Republic. She was one of 10 US artists selected to participate in an international exchange between National Dance Project (US) and Culture Ireland (IE). She was awarded a 2016 Choreographic Fellowship from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and a 2017 Postdoctoral Fellowship from the American Association of University Women. She was recently one of the first dancers invited to speak at the Society for European Philosophy, and her publications include contributions to Tanz, Bewegung, und Spiritualität, The Journal of Environmental Philosophy, and the Journal of Performance and Mindfulness.
